Is It Too Early to Start Planning a 2027 Disney Vacation?

One of the most common questions I get is:

“Is it too early to start planning our Disney vacation?”

My answer is almost always…

No.

In fact, just this week I booked one family’s 2027 Walt Disney World vacation and sent another family a proposal for an August 2027 trip.

If you already know roughly when you’d like to travel, there’s a lot of value in starting the planning process early.

But there aren’t many promotions yet…

That’s true.

At the time I’m writing this, Disney has only released one promotion for 2027:

20% off a child’s Disney Dining Plan when you purchase an adult Dining Plan as part of a qualifying vacation package.

If you’re waiting because you’re hoping for room discounts or ticket offers, those simply haven’t been announced yet.

But that doesn’t mean you have to wait to book.

Here’s what many first-time Disney families don’t realize.

You can reserve your Disney vacation before most promotions are released.

Then…

As Disney announces new offers throughout the year, I keep an eye on every reservation I’ve booked.

If a new promotion applies to your vacation, I’ll work to have it added to your reservation before your final payment is due.

That means you don’t have to choose between:

  • booking early
  • or waiting for discounts.

You can often do both.

Why booking early has advantages

Beyond promotions, booking early gives you something just as valuable:

Options.

You’ll generally have:

  • More resort availability
  • More room categories to choose from
  • More flexibility if your first choice is important
  • More time to budget and make payments

Instead of trying to piece together whatever is left closer to your travel dates, you have the opportunity to build the vacation that’s the best fit for your family.

Every family is different

Some families know exactly where they want to stay.

Others haven’t decided between Value, Moderate, or Deluxe Resorts.

Some are wondering if Park Hopper is worth it.

Others don’t even know where to start.

That’s perfectly okay.

One of the biggest misconceptions about working with a Disney travel advisor is that you need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

You don’t.

Whether you know exactly what you want or you’re still deciding between several options, that’s where I can help.

Final thoughts

If you’re thinking about a 2027 Disney vacation…

No, it’s not too early.

Even if every promotion hasn’t been announced yet, we can begin building a plan that fits your family, your budget, and the kind of vacation you’re hoping to have.

And if Disney releases a promotion that applies to your trip later?

I’ll be watching for it.

So you can focus on getting excited about your vacation instead of wondering whether you’re booking at the right time.
